Off kilter and cat-less

So everyone has those mornings where they wake up on the wrong side of the bed, right? But do any of you have days where you wake up and it just feels like the whole world is slightly off kilter (I know, I know, that could pretty much describe the last year and a half).

Today I woke up at my usual time feeling strangely out of place in my own skin. The lad woke up shortly after me, super annoyed that he was awake and really wanting to go back to sleep. There now seems to be some sort of epic seafaring operetta going on upstairs so he has apparently sorted himself out.

Me? I have a pit in my stomach for no reason I can put a finger on. I’m guessing some sort of nightmare hangover as my dreamscape last night featured scenes of my doctor friend working in an overflow COVID care set up and me scrambling against time to do something. I hate it when you can’t remember the details of dreams but just sort of have the lingering aftertaste of stress left in your brain.

The cat isn’t even in her usual spot. Something is definitely off.

I’m going to keep this short this morning so I can attempt to get myself in better space. I’ll get my yoga on and go make some kind of awesome breakfast. It’s no seafaring rock opera, but I’m hoping it will do the trick.

Hoping your day is feeling decidedly more centered.
